a question from brooks...

will you be my valentine??

with february in full force and valentine's right around the corner, i thought i'd get a head start on valentine's gifts.
with the help of Tiny Prints i was able to make these ADORABLE cards to send out to grandmas, grandpas, family, and friends.  i mean, come on, who wouldn't want to open their mailbox to find these??

Tiny Prints has so many different options to choose from.  i literally spent an hour paroozing through the valentine's cards narrowing down my favorites.  it was so fun to see the different designs, color options, trim selections, etc.
the website is so user friendly, even my technology challenged mom could figure it out! haha

i know i've posted pictures of brooks in this outfit before, but when i thought of valentine's cards i couldn't help but think of this dapper little outfit.  i love how this outfit makes him look like a little man meets the newsie boys... it was exactly the look and feel i was going for.
he's just a little heartbreaker.

so what do you think?  do you want to be his valentine?
he's taking applications in the form of comments :)

it's not too late to create a valentine's masterpiece.

mama&baby - linkup.

about a week ago my brother in law got married.  that of course meant that we had to get new wedding outfits.  the outfit i put together for brooks is so cute, i literally wish he could wear it all the time.

you wouldn't know it by looking at the pictures, but this little guy has been sick with something or other for quite some time.  there should be a rule that babies can't get sick... it's just not fair and it's heartbreaking.  nonetheless, he is still his happy, silly self.

shirt: gap//pants: zara//shoes: gap(old)//hat: target//bowtie: etsy//peacoat (seen below): joefresh

i didn't get any full pictures of my dress, but i loved it! it was so convenient to nurse brooks in, and it is super comfortable.  i feel like i always have to wear skirts and tops rather than dresses because of nursing, so you mama's can appreciate a good nursing outfit! haha
i told my husband he needs to take me on a cruise so that i can wear it again :)
any occasion to dress up is fine by me!!

sunday dates.

last week i was m.i.a from the blogging scene.
due to sickness and overall exhaustion, i just needed a break.
baby sure takes it out of me!!
hopefully he will come out pretty soon :)

this week i took up brooklyn's challenge of giving someone an hour of your time.
matthew and i decided to ditch the cell phones and spend our sunday afternoon out in nature.
being nearly 39 weeks pregnant, i've come to realize that my activities and my stamina are slowly dwindling haha so a canyon drive with a little exploring was perfect.

we saw a moose friend.
utah is just beautiful :) i feel lucky to live here, surrounded by mountains, lakes, rivers, valleys, etc.

also this weekend, we hit up the lindon city pool.
i didn't bring my camera but we did get a cell phone pic.
i will tell you what, until my child is born i will be spending my time exclusively at pools.
that is a fact.

online friends.

day twenty seven:
list 3 online friends you have yet to meet, but wish to.

i chose one famous blogger.
mostly because i want to squish her precious little kids.

and two bloggers that i feel like i could be real life, every day friends with.

and

these ladies are great and i hope to meet them in the near future :)

food.

day twenty six:
what's your favorite food?

my current pregnant food cravings are as follows...

cereal.
i ate it for every single meal yesterday.

otterpops.
bought a box when i was grocery shopping this week.

fruit.
any and all kinds. yum!

frozen yogurt/ice cream.
i want this every day.

location.

day twenty five:
describe your location.

over the weekend my location took my down south on a quick, warm, getaway.
mesquite, nevada.

the sun was shining.
the swimsuits were on.
palm trees swaying.
the food was eaten.
good times were had.

and
i finally saw safe haven.  i must say, i liked the movie but it was SO different from the book that it made me annoyed while watching.

and i only took three pictures on my phone to document this joyful occasion.
i really need to get better at using my camera.

3.24.2013

embarrassing.

day twenty four:
describe your most embarrassing moment.

scheduling an incomplete post is quite embarrassing.
haha
truth be told, i don't find myself getting embarrassed that often.  i had to ask matt and my friends what my most embarrassing moment was... and they weren't much help.

the only thing i could come up with was one time i was buying a questionable item with a friend.
we carefully selected a store that we thought we were least likely to run into people we knew.
riteaid.
we went in, grabbed the item, and began to walk up to the register, when who should walk through the front doors?!
oh just my mother and sister.
i swear to you i've never seen my mom go to riteaid.
we were both so awkward we literally ran away laughing like five year olds and threw the questionable item down a random isle.
it wasn't so much embarrassing, but awkward as crap.

playing the situation over year later, we made ourselves seem way more suspicious by the way we acted.  they probably wouldn't have even noticed what we had in hand, and we definitely could have had a good explanation.
but no, we chose to scream and run away.
good times, good times.

3.23.2013

hobbies.

day twenty three:
do you have any hobbies?

i used to scrapbook a lot.
i would still like to, but i just can't seem to find the time.

reading is always a favorite hobby of mine.

and shopping, who doesn't love that?
