things i forget + fall.

first things first, you may have noticed i got a new blog name and design.

months ago i won it in a giveaway and due to wedding stuff, i didn't redeem it until now.

kailyn from wandering free did an awesome job and was so easy to work with.

she definitely exceeded my expectations.

life as of late has seemed so stressful and at times to much to bear.

i feel like there is never enough time in the day to do all of the things i NEED to do.

i might as well just forget about the things i WANT to do because they will never happen.

needless to say, tears have been shed, complaints uttered, and guess what? life is still stressful.

about two weeks ago i had a beyond hellish week.

i came to the conclusion that my attitude sucked and needed to change.

i decided for the upcoming week (this passed one) that i was going to replace my negative thoughts with positive ones.

i was going to be a glass half full kind of a person.

and to my surprise... IT WORKED!

i also decided that each day, no matter how busy and stressed i was that i was going to allow myself 30 minutes of "me time" to escape from reality for a minute.  sometimes it was reading a book, taking a longer shower than necessary, cuddling longer with matt in the morning, etc. etc.

sometimes i get so caught up in my to-do lists that i forget to do something that is actually enjoyable.

luckily, my positive week also helped me be more productive and this weekend i actually had time to have a weekend :)

fall is here

and i am happy about it.

this summer bonfires weren't allowed in the canyon (or anywhere really) because of how dry it was.  now that fall is here, last night we took advantage of bonfire season and had our first one to kick off the cooler weather.

it is beginning to feel like fall in our house as well.

moral of the story... i am thankful for little reminders that life doesn't always have to seem so bad.

when i think of the good things i have, i realize how lucky i truly am.

and i feel thankful.

november 26th.

today i am thankful for letters in the mail.

there is something about handwritten letters that i just love.

and i love them even more when they are from matthew :)

i am thankful for love letters.

november 27th.

today i am thankful for christmas lights.

they make my heart happy.

i think everyone should be required to put up christmas lights.haha

they are just pretty and bring the holiday spirit.

november 28th.

today i am thankful for sunsets.

we have had the most beautiful sunsets lately.

unfortunately i haven't captured any on camera.

but i am thankful nontheless.

november 29th.

today i am thankful for hard work paying off.

i have been swamped with homework, projects, and school.

today i received some scores of tests and projects back and i was thrilled.

hard work pays off.

i am thankful for good grades.

november 30th.
today i am thankful for a good nights rest.

between work and getting ready for finals, i feel like i'll be missing out on some of those.
gotta enjoy them while i can.
i am thankful for sleep.

there are oh so many things i am thankful for, and these are just a few.
i am thankful for my life!

it was my last day in first grade and i loved it so much.

today i am thankful for KIND people.

such as the lady bank teller that helped me today.

i cried at the bank.

she had no idea why i was crying, nor i doubt did she care.

but guess what,

she listened to my frustrations.

agreed with me.

told me to be grateful that i'm a good saver,

gave me some smarties...and sent me on my way.

she was the best.

so today, i am thankful for good customer service.

november 19th.

today i am thankful for lazy days in.

i seriously did nothing.

and it was exactly what i needed.

sometimes you just need to be alone and watch vampire diaries all day and night.

i am thankful for entertainment as well.

even if it causes me to procrastinate homework and not be productive.

today i am thankful for service.

service is such a great thing.

if you are the one doing the service you feel happy.

if you are the one receiving the service you feel happy.

it's a win win situation really.

i haven't always been the best journal writer, i usually go through phases.

but today i stumbled upon a bunch of old letters and thoughts from a few years back.

it was so weird.

it reminded me of old feelings. and memories. and things i had forgotten.

it was fun to see how much i've changed and how different things are now.

i woke up starving.

and it reminded me how lucky i am to have an abundance of food.

the convenience of fast food places, restaurants, grocery stores etc.

so close to where i live is something i take for granted.

today i am thankful to be a member of

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I know my Heavenly Father loves me inspite of my weaknesses.

I feel His love on a daily basis.

 I know Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet today.

I am thankful for his words of encouragement and inspiration.

I know the Book of Mormon is true.  I have read and prayed for myself and if you haven't read it before I highly suggest you do.

I am so thankful for the blessings I recieve each day from being a member of this gospel.  I know that true happiness comes through living righteously, and I am thankful that I have found that.
