my attempt at being domestic part I.

one of my resolutions for 2013 is to be a better house wife,
like her.

it's no secret, i do not enjoy cooking.
when i got married, i knew that this was something i needed to take up or else my family would become obese from nightly fast food runs.  for the first month or so i did pretty good cooking a few times a week, but then i became prego.
i literally did not step in our kitchen to cook (or really anything for that matter) for about 3.5 months.
my poor husband had to fend for himself.  thank goodness our parents live so close because he would've starved, i'm sure of it.
we went almost two months without real grocery shopping because being around food made me so sick.

anyway.
now that i'm not on the constant verge of vomiting (just semi constant) i have decided it is time to get back into the kitchen.
dearest matthew is on BYU campus from 8:30am - 10:30pm every Tuesday, and 3:30am-6:30pm every Thursday.  that my friends, is a long time. and yes, i said 3:30AM!!

i saw this idea on good ol pinterest and in my attempt to accomplish my resolution i decided to try it out so that matthew will have easy grab and go food to pack for his extra long days.

i present to you...frozen breakfast burritos.

Ingredients:

1 lb. Pork Sausage (I use Jimmy Dean)
1 Pkg. Hash browns (I use Simply Potatoes)
8 to 12 Large eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 pkg. shredded cheese (I use cheddar today, but I have used a Mexican blend)
salt and pepper to taste
1 to 2 pkg. flour tortillas (I used the soft taco size tortillas)

this is the recipe i used, but i cut everything in half because i didn't want 10 million breakfast burritos.

cutting the recipe in half made 12 burritos, and it took about 30-40 minutes from start to finish.
all in all it was a success.  the boy took some frozen burritos with him, slapped em in the microwave, and said they were delicious!
success.

I'm a couple weeks ahead of you though and my morning sickness is finally gone after 19 weeks! its bliss, and I'm sure its right around the corner for you. now i can cook again and don't feel like the worlds worst wife. haha.
